What is a scotopic syndrome?
A scotopic syndrome is a visual information processing disorder. It can cause mild problems (difficulty reading after a long time of reading), or more serious problems (distortion of the text when reading even after a short time of reading, headaches, dizziness, nausea, painful and burning eyes). The symptoms are different for each individual, but they have in common the effect of light on reading and well-being.
Are Brightnin notebooks also suitable for people with dyslexia?
Brightnin notebooks are definitely suitable for all creative souls! However, the colored pages of the notebooks cannot mitigate the effects of dyslexia on the ability to read and write. No notebooks with colored sheets will do. This is a common misconception and many times such notebooks are misrepresented as notebooks that can help people with dyslexia in this way. However, we believe that coloring pages can help people with scotopic syndrome, which is often misdiagnosed as dyslexia, as both have similar symptoms. So if someone is supposed to have dyslexia, but coloring books help them, that person very likely (also) has a scotopic syndrome.
